Friday design challenges
Higher and Stronger
1.)because the building will change shapes depending on how much storage is needed or what the purpose of the building is.
2.)Yes because it makes people work smarter and faster to complete a job
3.)Very important because there are a lot of ideas that can come together to create one, several outside influences are good
4.)Don't remember
5.)It supported 2 textbooks
6.)we where just going for height and hoping it wouldn't tip over we weren't looking for support considering our materials
7.)not giving enough support at the bottom of our building
8.)we knew that triangles, and circles where the strongest shape so we didn't need height we just tried to make a strong triangle base
9.)one single triangle was not strong enough to support more than 2 textbooks because we needed more supporting material
10.)they used the paper as an outside support which was smart

Decoding the design behind the wall
1) The way we communicated to each other with having so many set backs, and having people unable to do certain things was simply just patients with one another so the person that saw the object could show us what is was.
2)Skills I learned from this was better communication skills in the way of more detailed communications with one another and not expecting everyone will understand everything you say.
3)What was successful was being patient and letting everyone come to terms with what is happening. What didn't work was rushing and being loud

Paper Cargo Plane
1) We made our first design for the plane by simply just making the only kind of plane we knew how to do and just slowly adjusted the amount of cargo to find the maximum amount.
2) After the initial test we more or less just re-folded the plane so it would have better creases and folds so it would be a little bit better.
3) putting the cargo in one space and stacking them did not work it just had to big of a build up of weight in one area. so we had to spread it out but keeping it closer to the middle because we couldn't put it on the wings or it wouldn't be able to glide.

Catapult
1) The catapult that our group made was very similar to another group's. It consisted of a plastic spoon Popsicle sticks and elastic bands. it had a short arm that was very springy which provided I high shooting catapult.
2)A point in our design that we had to re-model was the angle we shot the catapult because we where getting more height that distance so we had to add more support on the bottom.
3)We just communicated on ideas and brought the good ones together to create the one we made and expanded on the ideas as we got farther into the project.

Zip line
1) things we had to adjust with the zip line was adjusting where the ball would fall out and where the hole was going to be.
2) we designed the carrier so that it was on a decline towards the drop off zone. we also used a washer so it would glide nicely on the string
3)we didn't have a perfectly planned out strategy we just did lots of trial and error of finding the right pot where the target should be
4)I could use the skills I learned yesterday with things like moving heavy objects downstairs or something like that and how having a smooth surface would make it easier to move.

Ginger Bread
1) Our reference for the design of our ginger bread house was a log cabin.
2) Everyone took one side of the house weather it was the front back sides or roof. And we just decorated it based off of a log cabin
3)We all just discussed how we wanted it to look and all agreed upon one idea and one style and followed the way it looked.
